Treatment With Brackets

Treatment With Brackets Braces used in orthodontic treatment; It consists of square brackets adhered to the teeth and the arch wire passing through the middle of the brackets. Brackets, which are attached to the teeth in orthodontic treatment and have the function of transmitting the force passing through the wires to the teeth, can consist of many different materials. Wires and brackets made of metal or porcelain are frequently preferred. Orthodontic wires, also known as braces, can be made of nickel and titanium metal alloys or made of steel. In addition, sapphire, hard plastic and ceramic materials are among the bracket materials used. The common feature of these braces is that they are stainless and durable. Titanium gives the brackets strength and nickel gives flexibility. However, in cases where the patient does not like the image, they can be covered with tooth-colored paint or ceramic. When there is a coating, the wires appear as a whole with the tooth and aesthetically satisfy the patient. It is the task of the orthodontist to decide what material the braces will be made of. Because, depending on how the tooth structure and treatment process will progress, there may be changes in the materials in the braces.
